    Delegates successfully completing the multiple choice assessments will receive an ECITB accredited CCNSG Safety Passport Card valid for 3 years.

    CCNSG Renewal

    CCNSG Renewal Grace Period Ends 31st March 2022.
    As of 31st March 2022, the grace period scheme will come to an end.  All cards expiring on or before 31 March must be renewed via one day Refresher Course or Renewal Test Only, after that period a two-day CCNSG National Course is mandatory.
    Example: Your card expired 31st December 2021, you had 3 months grace period up to 31st March to still use your card and take a one day refresher. From 1st April if you have not renewed your card you have to take the 2 day course. There are no further extensions beyond 31st March.
    Beginning 1 April 2022, CCCNSG card holders may renew their cards up to six months prior to the expiry date via one day Refresher Course or Renewal Test Only. Once a card reaches its expiry date a two day course is mandatory.

    The CCNSG Safety Passport is a nationally recognised health and safety qualification used across sectors such as construction, engineering, industrial, power generation, oil, gas, and other related environments. It is intended to support safer working by helping individuals understand site risks and responsibilities.

    Client Contractor National Safety Group.

    Q3. Who runs CCNSG training? 
    CCNSG training is administered by the Engineering Construction Training Board (ECITB) and delivered by approved training providers across the UK, including HSS Training.

    About the Course 

    Q4. What is the CCNSG Safety Passport Renewal course?
    The renewal course is designed to refresh and reinforce existing health and safety knowledge for delegates who already hold a CCNSG Safety Passport. It covers key topics such as site hazards, legal responsibilities and safe systems of work to support continued safe access to industrial sites.

    Q5. What’s the difference between the Safety Passport and Renewal Course? 
    The 2-day Safety Passport is for new delegates. The 1-day renewal course is for those with a valid or due to expire CCNSG passport who need to extend it for a further 3 years.

    Who Should Attend 

    Q6. Who is this course for? 
    Contractors, site operatives, supervisors, and maintenance staff who already hold a valid CCNSG Safety Passport and need to renew it to maintain site access on engineering and industrial sites.

    Q7. Are there any entry requirements?
    Delegates must hold a valid CCNSG Safety Passport and be within their 6 month renewal period in order to attend this course. All delegates are required to have a competent understanding of written and spoken English. If your passport has already expired, delegates will need to complete the standard CCNSG Safety Passport course instead.

    How the Training Works 

    Q8. How is the course delivered? 
    Training is delivered in a classroom environment by one of our approved trainers, using presentations, discussions and real-world site examples.

    Q9. What should I bring on the day?
    Please bring valid photo ID, your National Insurance Number, and your current CCNSG passport. PPE or supporting documentation such as forms or declarations may also be required. Full details will be confirmed after your booking.

    Q10. Is lunch provided? 
    Lunch is not provided so delegates are advised to bring their own lunch or make use of nearby facilities. Training centres are equipped with a kettle, microwave and fridge if needed.

    Q11. Is there parking available at the training centre? 
    Most of our training venues offer free on-site parking, although spaces may be limited. You’ll receive full parking details, including What3Words navigation, once your booking is confirmed. Alternatively, you can find parking availability and other venue details on our Training Centres information page

    Assessments & Certification 

    Q12. How is the course assessed? 
    Assessment is completed through 80 multi-choice questions covering all the topics in the syllabus.

    Successful delegates receive a CCNSG Safety Passport card, valid for 3 years. Cards are issued by ECITB and sent after successful course completion.

    Q14. What's the difference between a CSCS card and the CCNSG Safety Passport?
    They apply to different sectors. The CSCS card is commonly used in general construction. The CCNSG Safety Passport is designed for engineering and industrial settings, including higher-risk sites such as power, manfacturing and process industries.
